InterfacialPropertiesofEthylCellulose/CelluloseAcetateBlendsbyHPLCKeywords: ethylcellulose,celluloseacetate,interfacialproperty,highperformanceliquidchromatography Abstract: Thehighperformanceliquidchromatographymethod(HPLC)withethylcellulose/celluloseacetate(EC/CA)blendsandECascolumnpackingmaterial,andsmallmolecularweightcompoundasprobemoleculeswasemployedtomeasuretheretentionvolume(VR)andequilibriumdistributioncoefficient(K)ofbothinorganicandorganicsolutes.TheinterfacialseparationpropertiesofEC/CAblendswerecharacterizedbytheHPLCdata.Theeffectsoftheblendsontheinterfacialadsorptionproperties,hydrophilicity,affinity,polarandnon-polarparametersofECmembranematerialswerestudiedsubsequently.TheresearchresultsindicatethattheinterfacialadsorptionpropertiesandhydrophilicityofEChavebeenimprovedbysolutionblendingwithCA.ThealloysaresuperiortoECintheseparationefficiencyfornon-dissociablepolarorganicsolute.TheEC/CAalloy(8020,w)issuitablefordesaltinganddesaccharifying.
