Abstract: Acurrentsourceconverterbasedmulti-terminaldirectcurrent(DC)windenergyconversionsystem(WECS)isproposed.ThecurrentsourceDC/DCconverterisadoptedtoconnectawindturbinetoaninverterwithmaximumpowerpointcontrol.EachturbineisassociatedwithaDCsourcebyparallel-connectedtoacommonDClink.AfterDCpowercollection,acurrentsourceinverter(CSI)usinggateturn-offcomponentsisusedforthegridconnectionduetoitsflexiblereactivepowercontrolandshortcircuitprotectioncapabilities.Forsuchaparallelconnectionconfiguration,theCSIoperatesinaninputvoltagecontrolmode,whichmaintainstheDClinkvoltageconstant.Thedynamicresponsesofcombinedmechanicalandelectricalsystemsareinvestigatedwiththreedifferentoperationcases.SimulationandexperimentalresultsdemonstratethefeasibilityandstabilityofthecurrentsourceDC/DCconverterbasedmulti-terminalDCWECS.
