Abstract:

Inthisreport,wesummarizetheneedsofspaceweathermodels,andrecommendthatdevelopingoperationalpredictionmodels,ratherthantransitioningfromresearchtooperation,isamorefeasibleandcriticalwayforspaceweatherservicesinthenearfuture.Operationalmodelsforsolarwindspeed,geomagneticindices,magnetopause,plasmasheetenergeticelectrons,innerboundaryofionplasmasheet,energeticelectronsinouterradiationbelt,andthermosphericdensityatlowEarthorbit,havebeendevelopedandwillbeintroducedbrieflyhere.TheirapplicationsmadeabigprogressinspaceweatherservicesduringthepasttwoyearsinChina.
