EffectofInterplanetaryTransientsonCosmicRayAnisotropicVariations, PP. 353-359 Keywords: Magneticfields,Prominences,Filaments,Flares,Solarwind,Cosmicray Abstract: Inthepresentworkthecosmicrayintensitydatarecordedwithground-basedneutronmonitoratDeepRiverhasinvestigatedtakingintoaccounttheassociatedinterplanetarymagneticfieldandsolarwindplasmadataduring1981-1994.Alargenumberofdayshavingabnormallyhigh/lowamplitudesforsuccessivenumberoffiveormoredaysascomparedtoannualaverageamplitudeofdiurnalanisotropyhavebeentakenashigh/lowamplitudeanisotropicwavetrainevents(HAE/LAE).TheamplitudeofthediurnalanisotropyoftheseeventsisfoundtoincreaseonthedaysofmagneticcloudascomparedtothedayspriortotheeventanditfoundtodecreaseduringthelaterperiodoftheeventasthecloudpassestheEarth.TheHigh-SpeedSolarWindStreams(HSSWS)donotplayanysignificantroleincausingthesetypesofevents.Theinterplanetarydisturbances(magneticclouds)arealsoeffectiveinproducingcosmicraydecreases.HαsolarflareshaveagoodpositivecorrelationwithbothamplitudeanddirectionoftheanisotropyforHAEs,whereasPMSshaveagoodpositivecorrelationwithbothamplitudeanddirectionoftheanisotropyforLAEs.ThesourceresponsiblefortheseunusualanisotropicwavetrainsinCRhasbeenproposed.
