NumericalSimulationforthe16August1999EUVBrightenings, PP. 507-512 Keywords: Explosiveevents,Magneticreconnection,Coalescenceinstability,EUVbrightenings,Bi-directionalreconnectionjets Abstract: The16August1999EUVbrighteningsarenumericallysimulatedbyathird-orderupwindcompactscheme,basingontheTRACEobservation.Thepresentsimulationcangiveapossibleexplanationtoitsformationandevolution.ThenumericalresultsshowthattheinitialreconnectionjetsataroundX-pointareresponsiblefortheoccurrenceofEUVbrightening.ThestrongandsuperposedejectionscausedbythefirstandsecondcoalescenceofmagneticislandsarepossiblyrelatedtotheliftedmaterialwhichinitiallyappearedasabsorptionfeaturesandLaterEUV-emittingstructuresrespectively.Thebi-directionalreconnectionjetsmaycorrespondtotheliftedmaterialthateithercontinuedtomoveupwardalongtheapparentlyopenfieldlinesorfelldowntothesurface.
