OperationandapplicationofA,Bsatellitesforenvironmentanddisastermonitoringandforecasting, PP. 486-492 Keywords: EnvironmentandDisasterMonitoringandForecasting(EDMF),Satellite,HJ-1-A,B Abstract: EnvironmentanddisastermonitoringandforecastingsmallsatelliteconstellationAandBsatellites(HJ-1-A,B)arecalled"environmentanddisasterreductionsatellitesAandB''forshort.Theconstellationadoptsa10:30LTsun-synchronouscircularorbit,withorbitaltitudeof649km.HJ-1-AandHJ-1-Baredistributedwithaphasedifferenceof180ointhesameorbitalplane,soastoenhancethetimeresolutionofearthobservation.Thesatelliteshaveorbitmaintenancecapability,thelifetimeis3years.BothsatellitesadoptCAST968platforms.Twowide-coveragemultispectralCCDcameraswithresolution30mandwidth700km,asuper-spectralimagerwithresolution100mandwidth50kmaswellasadatatransmissionsubsystemof120Mbit/saredeployedonHJ-1-A,whichalsocarriesKacommunicationtestingequipmentofThailand.HJ-1-Bhastwowide-coveragemultispectralCCDcameras(thesameassatelliteA),oneinfraredcamerawithresolution150mandwidth720kmandadatatransmissionsubsystemof60Mbit/s.Thecoverageperiodofthewide-coveragemultispectralCCDcamerais48hours.Therevisitperiodofsuper-spectralimageris96hoursandthecoverageperiodofinfraredcamerais96hours.
