ThefirstmitochondrialgenomeforthebutterflyfamilyRiodinidae(Abisarafylloides)anditssystematicimplicationsDOI: 10.11813/j.issn.0254-5853.2013.E4-5.E109 Keywords: Abisarafylloides,Mitochondrialgenome,Riodinidae,Systematicimplication Abstract: TheRiodinidaeisoneofthelepidopteranbutterflyfamilies.ThisstudydescribesthecompletemitochondrialgenomeofthebutterflyspeciesAbisarafylloides,thefirstmitochondrialgenomeoftheRiodinidaefamily.TheresultsshowthattheentiremitochondrialgenomeofA.fylloidesis15301bpinlength,andcontains13protein-codinggenes,2ribosomalRNAgenes,22transferRNAgenesanda423bpA+T-richregion.Thegenecontent,orientationandorderareidenticaltothemajorityofotherlepidopteraninsects.Phylogeneticreconstructionwasconductedusingtheconcatenated13protein-codinggene(PCG)sequencesof19availablebutterflyspeciescoveringallthefivebutterflyfamilies(Papilionidae,Nymphalidae,Peridae,LycaenidaeandRiodinidae).BothmaximumlikelihoodandBayesianinferenceanalyseshighlysupportedthemonophylyofLycaenidae+Riodinidae,whichwasstandingasthesisterofNymphalidae.Inaddition,weproposethattheriodinidsbecategorizedintothefamilyLycaenidaeasasubfamilialtaxon.
