Abstract:

?Fe-TiO2photocatalystswithdifferentratiosofFetoTiwerepreparedbyasol-gelprocessusingtetra-n-butyltitaniumandiron(Ⅲ)nitrateasTiandFesources,respectively.Thephotocatalyticfunctionofthepreparedcompositeswasexaminedforthedecompositionoflow-concentration(0.1ppm)airbornebenzene,toluene,ethylbenzene,ando-xylene(BTEX).TheFe-TiO2compositeswerecharacterizedbyenergydispersiveX-rayspectroscopy,X-raydiffraction,UV-visiblespectroscopy,andFouriertransforminfraredspectroscopy.Thetime-seriesratiosofoutlettoinletconcentrationsoftoluene,ethylbenzene,ando-xylenetargetchemicals,asdeterminedbytheFe-TiO2compositesundervisiblelightexposure,werelowerthanorsimilartothoseofthereferenceTiO2photocatalyst.Moreover,thetime-seriesratiosofoutlettoinletconcentrationsofthethreecompounds,asdeterminedfortheFe-TiO2composites,increasedastheratioofFetoTiincreasedfrom0.001to0.010.Incontrast,underUVexposure,thetime-seriesratiosofoutlettoinletconcentrationsofBTEX,determinedfortheFe-TiO2composites,weresimilartoorhigherthanthoseobtainedfromthereferenceTiO2photocatalyst.Fe-TiO2compositeswithanoptimalFetoTiratiocouldeffectivelybeappliedforthepurificationoflow-concentrationaromaticorganicpollutants.
