Abstract:

?Acarbonpasteelectrodethatwaschemicallymodifiedwithmultiwallcarbonnanotubesandp-aminophenolwasusedasaselectiveelectrochemicalsensorforthesimultaneousdetectionofhydroxylamine(HX)andphenol.Cyclicvoltammetry,doublepotential-stepchronoamperometry,squarewavevoltammetry(SWV),andelectrochemicalimpedancespectroscopywereusedtoinvestigatetheuseofp-aminophenolinthecarbonnanotubespastematrixesasamediatorfortheelectrocatalyticoxidationofHXandphenolinaqueoussolution.Thecoefficientofelectrontransferandcatalyticreactionrateconstantweredeterminedusingtheelectrochemicalmethods.Underoptimizedconditions,theelectrocatalyticoxidationcurrentpeaksforHXandphenolincreasedlinearlywithconcentrationintherangeof0.5-180.0and10.0-650.0μmol/LforHXandphenol,respectively.ThedetectionlimitsforHXandphenolwere0.15and7.1μmol/L,respectively.TheanodicpotentialpeaksofHXandphenolwereseparatedby0.65VinSWV.Becauseofgoodselectivityandsensitivity,thepresentmethodprovidesasimplemethodfortheselectivedetectionofHXandphenolinpracticalsamplessuchaswatersamples.
