Abstract:
?PhasepureAlPO4withtheAlPO4-18(AEI)structurewassynthesisedusingN,N-diisopropylethylamineasatemplate.UsingacombinationofX-raypowderdiffractionandcomputationalmethods,thelocationandorientationoftheN,N-diisopropylethylaminemoleculesinsidethecagesoftheAEIstructureweredetermined.Thermogravimetricanalysisconfirmedthatthenumberoftemplatemoleculesperunitcellwasconsistentwiththediffractionstudy.WeunequivocallyshowthatonlyonetemplatemoleculeispresentineachcageofthecrystallineAEImaterial.Ourworkdemonstratesthatacombinedapproachenablesaccuratestructureresolutionofsuchcomplexmaterials.
