Abstract:

?AhighlysensitiveelectrochemicalsensorwaspreparedforthedeterminationofL-cysteineusingamodifiedmultiwallcarbonnanotubespasteelectrodeinthepresenceof3,4-dihydroxycinnamicacid(3,4-DHCA)asamediator,basedonanelectrocatalyticprocess.TheresultsindicatethattheelectrodeiselectrocatalyticallyefficientfortheoxidationofL-cysteineinthepresenceof3,4-DHCA.TheinteractionbetweenthemediatorandL-cysteinecanbeusedforitssensitiveandselectivedetermination.Usingchronoamperometry,thecatalyticreactionrateconstantwascalculatedtobe2.37×102mol-1Ls-1.ThecatalyticpeakcurrentwaslinearlydependentontheL-cysteineconcentrationintherangeof0.4-115μmol/L.Thedetectionlimitobtainedbylinearsweepvoltammetrywas0.25μmol/L.Finally,themodifiedelectrodewasexaminedasaselective,simple,andprecisenewelectrochemicalsensorforthedeterminationofL-cysteineinrealsamples.
