Abstract:

?TheoxidativedehydrogenationofalcoholstoaldehydescatalyzedbyAgnanoparticlessupportedonAl2O3wasstudied.Thecatalystpromotedthedirectformationofiminesbytandemoxidativedehydrogenationandcondensationofalcoholsandamines.Thereactionswereperformedundermildconditionsandaffordedtheiminesinhighyield(upto99%)withoutanybyproductsotherthanH2O.Thehighestactivitywasobtainedover5wt%Ag/Al2O3intoluenewithairasoxidant.Thereactionswerealsoperformedunderoxidant-freeconditionswherethereactionwasdriventotheproductsidebytheproductionofH2inthegasphase.TheuseofanefficientandselectiveAgcatalystfortheoxidativedehydrogenationofalcoholinthepresenceofaminesgivesanewgreenreactionprotocolforiminesynthesis.
