Abstract:
?ZeoliteYmodifiedbycesiumandmagnesiumionswaspreparedbyion-exchangeandimpregnationmethods,anditsactivityinthecyanoethylationofaliphaticandaromaticalcoholsandamineswasinvestigated.Duringthepreparationofsomesamples,thetransformationofzeoliteYintoapollucite-typephaseoccurred.Thisphaseexhibitedgoodactivityinthecyanoethylationofaliphaticalcohols.Thepreparedsolidsmodifiedbytheimpregnationmethodweremoreactivethantheion-exchangedsolids.Theactivitiesofthecatalysts,incontrasttootherbasicsolids,werescarcelyaffectedbythepresenceofairormoisture.Acorrelationbetweencatalystbasicityandcatalyticactivityisdiscussed.ThecatalystswerecharacterizedbyX-raydiffraction,volumetricnitrogenadsorptionsurfaceareameasurement,andCO2temperature-programmeddesorption.Scanningelectronmicroscopyrevealedthattheparticlesofthemodifiednanocatalystswere<40nm.Thereactionofacrylonitrilewithlinearalcoholsinthepresenceofthecatalystswasacceleratedbymicrowaveirradiation.
