Abstract:

?ThecompositescomprisingFe-carbonnanotubes(CNTs)onTiO2werepreparedbyamodifiedsol-gelmethodandcharacterizedbynitrogenadsorption,scanningelectronmicroscopy,transmissionelectronmicroscopy,X-raydiffraction,andenergydispersiveX-rayanalysis.ThephotocatalyticdecompositionofrhodamineB(Rh.B)underUVirradiationandairaerationcatalyzedbythecompositeswasmeasured.ThephotocatalyticactivityofTiO2nanoparticleswassignificantlyenhancedbythelargeCNTnetworkthatfacilitatedelectrontransferbetweenadsorbedRh.Bmoleculesandthecatalystsubstrateandthesimultaneousoccurrenceofthephoto-FentonreactioninthepresenceofFeparticles.Amarkedaccelerationofthedecompositionratewasobservedwithaerationbyflowingairaerationduetotheformationofthecirculatoryphoto-Fentonsystem.Chemicaloxygendemandofpiggerywastewasmeasuredatregularintervalstoevaluatethemineralizationofwastewater.
