Abstract:

?TheNicatalystssupportedonγ-Al2O3weresynthesizedbyanimpregnationmethod.Theircatalyticperformanceinmethanedryreformingwasinvestigated.ThereformingreactionswerecarriedoutinamicroreactorusingaCO2:CH4feedratioof1:1,aF/W=2640ml/(h·g),reactiontemperaturesbetween500–850°C,andatatmosphericpressure.TheinfluenceofCa,Ce,andZrpromotersoncatalyststability,cokedeposition,andtheH2/COratiowerealsostudied.Effluentswereanalyzedusinganonlinegaschromatographequippedwithathermalconductivitydetector.Thespentandfreshcatalystswerecharacterizedbyscanningelectronmicroscopyandthermogravimetricanalysis.Itwasfoundthat3%Ni/γ-Al2O3promotedwith0.15%Ceand0.05%Cagavethebestperformanceandresultedinlesscokeformation.ThehighestCH4andCO2conversionactivitieswerefoundtobe94.1%and98.3%at850°C,respectively.Stabilitytestswerecarriedoutfor130handthisprovidedaH2yieldof91%.Moreover,theamountofformedcarbonwasnegligibleanddidnotincreasetomorethan1.5wt%.
