Abstract:

?Severaldualmetalcyanidecatalystswerepreparedfrompotassiumferrocyanide,metalchloride(wheremetal=Zn2+,Mn2+,Ni2+,Co2+andFe2+),t-butanol(complexingagent)andPEG-4000(co-complexingagent).Thecatalystswerecharacterizedbyelementalanalysis(CHNandX-rayfluorescence),X-raydiffraction,N2adsorption-desorption,scanningelectronmicroscopy,Fourier-transforminfraredspectroscopy,andUV-Visiblespectroscopy.Thedualmetalcyanidecatalystswereusedinseveralacidcatalyzedmulti-componentcouplingreactionsforthesynthesisofpharmaceuticallyimportantorganicderivatives.Inallthesereactions,theFe-Fecontainingdualmetalcyanidecatalystwasthebestcatalyst.Thecatalystscanberecycledwithoutlossincatalyticactivity.Theadvantageofthismethodistheuseofmild,efficientandreusablecatalystsforvariousreactions,whichmakesthemcandidatesforcommercialuse.
