Abstract:
？NanostructuredLaFeO3andsubstitutedLa1-xEuxFeO3(x=0.1,0.15,and0.2)perovskitesweresynthesizedbysol-gelauto-combustionandtheiractivitiesduringthecombustionoftoluenewereevaluated.Thestructureandphysico-chemicalpropertiesoftheperovskiteswerecharacterizedbyX-raydiffraction,Fouriertransforminfraredspectroscopy,scanningelectronmicroscopy,andBETsurfaceareaanalyses.Thecompoundswerecrystallizedasaperovskitephasewithanorthorhombicstructure.Themeanparticlesizeoftheperovskitesincreasedwithanincreaseineuropiumloadingwhilethespecificsurfaceareadecreased.CharacterizationdataconfirmedthatatotalinsertionofEuintoLaFeO3occurredatx≤0.15.However,Eu2O3segregationoccurredtosomeextentespeciallyatx>0.15.ThecatalyticactivityofthecatalystsincreasedsubstantiallywithanincreaseinEusubstitutionintheevaluatedrange.
