Abstract:

?Fe3O4/CMK-3waspreparedbyimpregnationandusedasacatalystforthedirecthydroxylationofbenzenetophenolwithhydrogenperoxide.TheironspeciesinthepreparedcatalystwasFe3O4becauseofthepartialreductionofiron(III)toiron(II)onthesurfaceofCMK-3.ThehighcatalyticactivityofthecatalystarisesfromtheformationofFe3O4onthesurfaceofCMK-3andthehighselectivityforphenolisattributedtotheconsumptionofexcesshydroxylradicalsbyCMK-3.Theeffectoftemperature,reactiontime,volumeofH2O2,andamountofcatalystonthecatalyticperformanceofthepreparedcatalystwereinvestigated.Underoptimizedconditions,thecatalystshowedexcellentcatalyticperformanceforthehydroxylationofbenzenetophenoland18%benzeneconversionwasachievedwith92%selectivityforphenolandwithaTOFvalueof8.7h-1.Thestabilityofcatalystwasinvestigatedbydeterminingitsactivityafterthefourthrunanditwasfoundtohavedecreasedto80%ofthefreshcatalyst’sactivity.
