Abstract:

?ExtendeduseofsupportedPtcatalystscausesthermalmigrationofPtparticlestoformlargeagglomerates,thusdecreasingthecatalyticactivity.ThecombinationofPtwithReprotectsPtagainstmigration.Inaddition,Cl-injectionintothereactorassistsPtparticlesredispersiontoprolongcatalystlife.Inthiswork,aPtRe/H-ZSM-5catalystwastreatedwitheitherHClorHFtoinvestigatetheirroleinactivatingordeactivatingthecatalyst.Theconversionexceeded90%inthewholetemperaturerangewiththePtRe/H-ZSM-5(HCl)catalyst,anditsactivityforthedirectisomerizationofcyclohexenetomethylcyclopentenes(MCPEs)wasthelowestbuttheactivityforthehydrogenationoftheMCPEstomethylcyclopentanewasthehighest.ThereactivitiesofMCPEsandcyclohexadienesonthecatalystsweresimilarbecausebotharedehydrogenationreactions.Benzeneproductionwassignificantlyhigheronthehydrochlorinatedcatalystthanontheothercatalysts,anditshydrocrackingactivitywasthelowest,whichisagoodcharacteristicforprocessingcatalystswherecrackingisundesired.
