Abstract:

?AnoveldecentralizedPIDcontrollerdesignprocedurebasedonbacksteppingprinciplesispresentedtooperatemultiple-inputmultiple-output(MIMO)dynamicprocesses.ThefirstkeyfeatureofthedesignprocedureisthatawholeMIMOcontrolsystemisdecomposedintomultiplecontrolloops,thereforethesub-controllerscanbeefficientlyflexiblydesignedinparallelprototype.Thesecondkeyfeatureisthatthedecentralizedcontrollerhasequivalencytothosedesignedbybacksteppingapproach.Asacomplementarysupporttothedesignprocedure,thesufficientconditionofthewholeclosed-loopsystemstabilityisanalyzedviathesmallgaintheoremanditcanbeproventhattheprocesstrackingperformanceisimproved.ThesimulationresultsoftheShellbenchmarkcontrolproblemareprovidedtoverifytheeffectivenessandpracticalityoftheproposeddecentralizedPIDcontrol.
