？Asemanticunitbasedeventdetectionschemeinsoccervideosisproposedinthispaper.Theschemecanbecharacterizedasathree-layerframework.Atthelowestlayer,low-levelfeaturesincludingcolor,texture,edge,shape,andmotionareextracted.High-levelsemanticeventsaredefinedatthehighestlayer.Inordertoconnectlow-levelfeaturesandhigh-levelsemantics,wedesignanddefinesomesemanticunitsattheintermediatelayer.Asemanticunitiscomposedofasequenceofconsecutivesframeswiththesamecuethatisdeducedfromlow-levelfeatures.Basedonsemanticunits,aBayesiannetworkisusedtoreasontheprobabilitiesofevents.Theexperimentsforshootandcardeventdetectioninsoccervideosshowthattheproposedmethodhasanencouragingperformance.
