Abstract:

?Symmetricworkpiecelocalizationalgorithmscombinealternatingoptimizationandlinearization.Theiterativevariablesarepartitionedintotwogroups.Thensimpleoptimizationapproachescanbeemployedforeachsubsetofvariables,whereoptimizationofconfigurationvariablesissimplifiedasalinearleast-squaresproblem(LSP).Convergenceofcurrentsymmetriclocalizationalgorithmsisdiscussedfirstly.ItisshownthatsimplytakingthesolutionoftheLSPasstartofthenextiterationmayresultindivergenceorincorrectconvergence.Thereforeinourenhancedalgorithms,linesearchisperformedalongthesolutionoftheLSPinordertofindabetterpointreducingthevalueofobjectivefunction.Wechoosethispointasstartofthenextiteration.Betterconvergenceisverifiedbynumericalsimulation.Besides,imposingboundaryconstraintsontheLSPprovestobeanotherefficientway.
