Abstract:

Fivetransgeniclinesofcotton(GossypiumhirsutumL.)carryingthecry1Ac(Bt,Bacillusthuringiensis)geneweredevelopedfromacultivarJH321byindependenttransformationevents.FifteenF1hybridswereobtainedfromdiallelcrossesamongthefivetransgeniclinesandJH321.WhencomparedwiththetransformationreceptorcultivarJH321,significantvariationsinagronomictraitsincludingimprovedyieldoryieldcomponentswerefoundamongthesetransgeniclines.Generalcombiningabilities(GCA)amongthesetransgeniclinesvariedgreatly,andtwooftheselineswithsignificantpositiveGCAeffectswereidentified.HeterosisinF1hybridsalsoexhibitedsignificantvariations.Itwasfoundthattheaverageheterosisofcrosseswithtwotransgeniclineswaslowerthanthatwithonlyonetransgeniclineasparentinyieldperformance.TheeconomictraitimprovementfortransgeniclinesandtheheterosisproducedbetweentransgeniclineandreceptorcultivarmightberaisedfromdifferentintegrationsitesofBtgene.
