THEINFLUENCEOFIRRADIATEDWHEATONLONGEVITYANDREPRODUCTIONOFTHEGRAINWEEVILSitophilusgranariusLINNE1758, PP. 223-226 Abstract: Themainobjectiveofthepresentresearchwastodeterminetheinfluenceofgammairradiationsonwheat,thedietofthegrainweevil,usingasparametersofthelongevityandreproductionofthisinsect.Thedosesof60Coγ-raysappliedtowheatgrainswereO(control),125,250,500,1000,2000,and4000Gy,atadoserateof3000Gyperhour.Thelongevity,expressedaslife-expectancyindays,andthereproductionexpressedasthenumberofF1adults,showednodifferencesuptothedoseof2000Gy.Thewheatirradiatedwiththedoseof4000Gyinducedalowerlife-expectancyoftheinsectsfedwithirradiatedwheatandasmallernumberofinsectsoftheF1generation.
