Comunismo como fase suprema do anticlericalismo

This paper aims to analyse the relationship between the Russian state and the Russian Orthodox Church before the Communist revolution of 1917 and during the existence of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (1917-1991). The main focus is concentrated on the different stages and forms of persecution on the Russian Orthodox Church by the communist authorities, though they proclaimed the freedom of conscience and religious worship. Also, we analyse the different ways in which the communist regime tried to use the Orthodox Church in its international policy.
