Reptilia, Squamata, Gymnophthalmidae, Ecpleopus gaudichaudi Duméril and Bibron, 1839: Distribution extension in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil.

A new record of the Gymnophtalmid lizard Ecpleopus gaudichaudi is presented for the state of Santa Catarina,extending its distribution about 50 km southeastward. We also briefly discuss the species nomenclature.
