ON SOME QUANTUM APPROACHES TO BIOMOLECULAR RECOGNITIONKeywords: Bi-o-mo-le-cu-lar Re-cog-ni-tion , Con-for-ma-ti-o-nal Tran-si-ti-ons , Qu-an-tum Bi-ophy-sics , Qu-an-tum Bi-o-in-for-ma-tics Abstract: Two un-re-sol-ved is-su-es of the (se-mi)clas-si-cally ad-dres-sed pro-blems in mo-le-cu-lar bi-ophysics are unre-a-so-nably long ti-me ne-ces-sary for chan-ge of bi-o-polymer con-for-ma-ti-ons and long-ran-ge directedness of se-lec-ti-ve bi-o-mo-le-cu-lar re-cog-ni-tion pro-ces-ses – implying the-ir es-sen-tial qu-an-tum origin. In this pa-per, se-ve-ral pos-si-ble qu-an-tum ap-pro-ac-hes to biomo-le-cu-lar re-cog-ni-tion are considered: The-ory of Non-Ra-di-a-ti-ve Re-so-nant Struc-tu-ral Tran-si-ti-ons, Mo-del of Qu-an-tum Decoheren-ce, and Re-so-nant Re-cog-ni-tion Mo-del. The-se appro-ac-hes might be of fun-da-men-tal importan-ce in un-der-stan-ding un-derlying mac-ro-sco-pic qu-an-tum-ho-lo-grap-hic Hop-fi-eld-li-ke con-trol mec-ha-nisms of morp-ho-ge-ne-sis, and the-ir backward in-flu-en-ce on the ex-pres-si-on of ge-nes, with signi-fi-cant po-ten-tial psycho-so-ma-tic im-pli-ca-ti-ons.
