Abstract:

Bullying is the high point of poor relations among pupils. It is relational violence situations where a peer play the role of aggressor and others the usual victims. Traditional forms of bullying are being analyzed from the 80's. Studies agree in concluding that this abuse is detected regularly in all Western countries, with an average incidence level around 20% of the students; the most common forms of aggression are related to physical contact or verbal, and scenarios, with the space classroom or school environment. In recent years, the incorporation of information technologies (ICT) have extended these parameters, and these assumptions are undergoing a profound change from the forms of aggression to the stage and the actors. This study presents an analysis of the differences between the forms of bullying than we call traditional and the bullying via ICT or cyberbullying. We aim to answer whether the differences are formal or substantive, and so if we are to define a new form of harassment among students. The review of work done in this field, can argue that cyberbullying is a specific form of bullying among schoolchildren and contributions advance in knowledge of their characteristics.
