A “Regra da Vida Virtuosa” de S o Martinho de DumeKeywords: Martin of Dume (saint) , Cardinal Virtues , Ethics , Mirror of Kings , Seneca , Christianity Abstract: Our reflection focuses on the moral work titled Formula Vitae Honestae. Therefore, we interpret this work which deals with the four cardinal virtues, as the work of a monk, a Christian who tries to give advices / rules, in a ethical point of view. His mentor is Seneca. At the same time, we shall show how the policy can be found there, being understood as a mirror of kings. We are, therefore, faced with a personality that marked the sixth century and the Portuguese culture at its roots, in a practical way.
