As Aventuras de Robin Hood: Lenda, Cinema e História

The legend of Robin Hood is an inheritance of the Middle Ages to the later centuries. But it was through the cinema that the hero became better known by the latest generations. Among its several cinematographic versions, The Adventures of Robin Hood, produced in 1938, stands as the most emblematic one, because it gave a contemporary model of this famous medieval outlaw, and a historical vision of the English past from the antagonism between Saxons and Normans. The article intends to compare some cinematographic representations with the historiography, as well as to connect the film with the times when it was realized.
