Uma Introdu o ao Estudo da Convers o e das Práticas Mágicas na Inglaterra Anglo-Sax nicaKeywords: Religiosity , England , Anglo-Saxons Abstract: The study of magical practices and popular religion during the Middle Ages is an area of study that has atracted the atention of new generations of historians. However, the study focused on the Early Middle Ages is not largely explored, due to the lack of written sources. This is clearly observed when one deals with England between the fifth and eleventh centuries. Therefore, through this article I intend to present an introduction into that field of study by taking into consideration the main elements of the lay religiosity of that period, its manifestations and the intentions to repress it.
