Notas sobre un conjunto constructivo del Bajo de Rincón Chico de Yocavil

We present the results from excavations carried out in Rincón Chico 8 site, Santa María Valley (Yocavil), Catamarca Province . Our analysis is centred in ceramic evidence and aspects of the constructive unit. Our aim is to discuss the possible functionality of the assemblage and to compare it to other neighbouring sites.We detected the construction of a circular and partially subterranean structure, with evidence of wall decoration. In addition, we present two new radiocarbon dates for one of the structures.Based on the association of the obtained data, we interpret the archaeological assemblage as a living unit, and we propose that other activities such as shelter, cooking and food consumption, and possibly storage took place.
