TRANSITION METAL BIS(2-BROMOPHENYL)DISULFIDE COMPLEXES

The interactions of the new ligand bis(2-bromophenyl)disulfide (BrPh)2S2 = L with transition metal ions are described. Octahedral complexes [ML2C1(2)(H(2)0)] (M = Mn(II), Fe(II), [Co(II) or Ni(II)) and CrL2Cl2(H(2)0)2]Cl were obtained and characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods which suggest that the bis(2-bromophenyl)disulfide behaves as a monodentate ligand.
