Acute Fever Without Source in Children 0 to 36 Months of Age

Various infectious diseases ranging from minor to life-threatening infections can be seen in previously healthy infants and children from birth to 36 months of age. In acute fever without source, when present, evaluation is done for determining children with probable occult bacteremia and serious bacterial infections and for preventing the condition from progressing to a life-threatening process such as meningitis or sepsis. Management of cases with acute fever without source was reviewed in this article.
