The Effect of The 4-E Learning Cycle Method On Students' Understanding of Electricity

Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of 4-E Science Learning Cycle method on the 6th grade students’ understanding of Flowing Electricity. This study was conducted by using quasi-experimental research design. Pre-test and post test with control group were applied in this study (Karasar, 1995; Kumar, 1999). The participants were chosen from a 6th grade class of Izmir Cavit zye in primary school. This study was applied to 79 students, of which 40 were in the experimental group and 39 were in the control group. In the control group, the traditional teaching method was applied; whereas in the experimental group, 4-E Science Learning Cycle method was applied. In both groups, the lessons were taught by the researcher.
