Towards an adequate ethical theoryDOI: 10.2298/fid0323065d Keywords: ethical theory , moral theory , ethical operators , formal properties of the moral words , universal prescriptivism Abstract: The author re-examines Hare’s claim about universal prescriptivism as the most adequate ethical theory in the narrow sense. Validity of that standpoint is being verified in relation to some rival conceptions, and through the requirements which have to be satisfied in order that an ethical theory can be called adequate.
