Ontology as a Backbone of the Enterprise Information Systems and Current Applications in Czech Republic

In this paper I’m describing the basics of the ontology which is well-known term for the knowledge management workers or researchers. However, it is still not well-known in the other areas. I’m covering the most typical use cases and roles of ontologies in the enterprise information systems with a special section about the ontology-powered projects in Czech Republic. At the end I’m trying to answer the question where we are now and what is the expected future development in this area.
