La revolución en los pueblos del litoral rioplatense =Revolution in the towns of Río de la Plata coast

Este artigo se prop e a analisar as características que o processo revolucionário adotou nos povoados rurais do litoral do Rio da Prata. Tem-se como objetivo: primeiro, demonstrar que as lutas de algumas cidades para constituírem-se em cabe as de entidades estatais n o somente implicaram um confronto com o governo superior, se n o que também as colocou diante do desafio de encontrar uma forma de representa o onde tivesse lugar aos povoados e às popula es rurais e resistir também suas pretens es soberanas; segundo, que as guerras neste espa o n o foram somente um confronto entre bandos, mas também uma série de lutas pela ades o e ao governo desses povoados; e em terceiro lugar, que esses confrontos definiram aos antagonistas políticos perfis sociais e étnicos específicos que expressavam antigas e recentes tens es produzidas pela revo- lu o. This article analyzes the characteristics of the revolutionary process in the rural villages of the Rio de la Plata. It has three aims: firstly, it attempts to demonstrate that the struggles of some cities to become heads of state agencies involved not only a confrontation with the government but it also introduced the challenge to find a way to give representation to the peoples and rural populations and to resist their pretension to sovereignity. Secondly, it aims at showing that wars in this space involved not just a confrontation between two sides but also a series of struggles for the support and the government of these peoples; and finally, that these confrontations brought to the political antagonisms specific ethnic and social profiles which expressed tensions both old and new.
