Existe rela o entre desenvolvimento humano e estrutura fundiária? um estudo exploratório nas microrregi es geográficas de Carazinho e Frederico Westphalen – RS

O objetivo principal do trabalho é investigar as rela es entre os indicadores de desenvolvimento humano – IDH-M e IDESE – e características da estrutura fundiária nas microrregi es geográficas de Carazinho e Frederico Westphalen no Rio Grandedo Sul. A hipótese do estudo de que uma menor desigualdade na distribui o da terra seria benéfica ao desenvolvimento humano medido pelos índices de desenvolvimento n o foi confirmada pela análise dos mapas temáticos. Tais resultados demonstram a necessidade de pesquisas que explorem a associa o entre desenvolvimento humano e a estrutura fundiária, mas que considerem o caráter rural do desenvolvimento das pessoas que vivem no setor primário. Abstract The main aim of this paper is to investigate the relations between two different human development indexes - IDH-M and IDESE - and characteristics of the agrarian structure in two microregions of Rio Grande do Sul: Carazinho and Frederico Westphalen. The hypothesis that a better distribution of land would be beneficial to human development measured by development indexes was not confirmed by analysis of thematic maps. These results demonstrate the need for future researches that explore the relations between human development and agrarian structure, but taking into account the character of the development of rural people living in theprimary sector.
