Rese a de "Boletin desdeldiez" de Centro de Estudios de la Revolución Mexicana "Lazaro Cárdenas"Abstract: Starting out from the hypothesis of urban selectivity, a typology of popular urban movements in time and space phases is proposed. The typology is constructed in five stages and divided into two phases. The first phase deals with activity in material living conditions, going from a complete lack to a minimum of well-being. The second phase deals with the activity in the subjective living conditions of desire, power and wealth. A transition phase between the two is proposed. This essay describes the first phase of the typology. It is a phase of generalized emergence, where a new culture is conformed by the adoptation to new conditions of material life. This culture could be called an emerging one, demostrating autonomy and independence, necessary for adaptation processes, and also dependency, later consolidating in class relations with the State and fundamental class.
