Memórias da luta pela terra: De sem-terra migrantes às ocupa es coletivas

This article analyzes the dimensions of themigration process of the landless workers, from the Westand Southwest of the Paraná state, during the 1980s, forsettling projects. Migrating constituted a social strategy ofreproduction of the familiar unit and their way of life. Atthe same time, the displacements experiences and thedaily settling life projects (such as cultural shocks, materialprecariousness, subjection and exploration), produce theresistance to the migration, a politic identity towards asocial movement (the MST), with collective strategies offight for the land and agrarian reform. This processevidences social representations of the land, articulatedto the ways of the peasants life and their practical politics.
