Because of the greatimmigration of German speakers to Brazil,the relationship between Brazil andGermany shows peculiar and veryinteresting aspects. From the linguisticpoint of view, the remnants of Germanlinguistic influences still present today inmany communities in south Brazilprovides extremely valuable data. In thispaper we intend to present some aspectsof the hunsrückisch – one of theseimmigration languages – characterizing itas a historical fact, a cultural heritage ofGerman speaking immigrants.
