Preconceito, discrimina o e criminaliza o: Jaraguá do Sul (SC) entre “nós” e os “outros”

Jaraguá do Sul (SC) has gonethrough a number of transformation processessince the 70s. Among those,industrialization, urbanization and growthof the migratory flow can be highlighted.Human migration, from 1980 on, hasprovoked not only the occupation ofperiferic regions, populational incrementand the conflict with the “others”, but hasalso opened a narcisic wound in a city thathas been proud of its german colonizationand culture. Thus, the article analyzes theway the immigrants, definetely born inParaná state, who were accepted in the cityin the beginning of the eighties, as theywere ready workers to supply the needs ofthe production system, were maderesponsible for the crimes that happenedin the city, for the devastation of the hillsides and for the occupation of theperipheral areas.
