This text focuses on the investigation of theprocess of exile or forced migration that Chilean workerswere pushed and had to abandon compulsive theircountry after the coup d'etat against the presidentSalvador Allende on September 11, 1973. There is animportant production of works of autobiographical cut,but certainly are few productions that handle thetrajectories of exiled workers. Particularly for theNortheast of Chubut they are non-existent. In this articlewe seek to reflect the experience of Chilean workers wholeft their country at their own risk, at least as aprecautionary measure to Argentina, and especiallyPatagonia, apparently an open border where at least theycould potentially start a new life.
