Abstract:

This study had the objective to evaluate the effect of organic fertilization and green on the chemical characteristics of soil, an experiment was conducted during the period of December 2007 to January/2009 in Areia-PB in a Entisol. The treatments were composed of two sources of manure (poultry litter and manure), two leguminous (beans, pork and pigeon peas), considering the N content in manure to calculate the levels to provide 400 g of N, while for leguminous, during flowering, the whole plant was cut and incorporated into the soil. Treatments were arranged in blocks with four replicates of one experimental unit consists of two plants totaling 32 plants for evaluation. These data were verified by orthogonal contrasts with significance verified by test F. There was a significant effect over the levels of 400 g of N, when compared to treatments with green manure and manure. The treatments with incorporation of green mass of leguminous plants influenced the content of P, K and Zn in the soil, the organic fertilizer (manure and leguminous), showed higher increase in levels of calcium, boron in the soil; There was significant effect of organic manure on the levels of potassium and calcium in the leaves of papaya. In contrast versus manure chicken manure, there were significant only for Mg content in soil.
