Comments on a Thesis of H nsel Concerning the Relationship of Tornows and Lesemanns during and after the NS-RegimeKeywords: special education , orthopedagogics , history , National Socialism , post-war period , conceptions , careers Abstract: H nsel (2006) holds the hypothesis that Tornow and Lesemann cooperated during und after the National Socialism regime in a secret way to gain acceptance for their common ideas in the field of special education. While Lesemann was isolated during the Nazi period, Tornow is supposed to have represented their common ideas in the public alone. After 1945 the roles of Tornow and Lesemann are assumed to have changed. From that time Lesemann alone is supposed to have represented their common convictions concerning special education in public, while Tornow, then remained relatively isolated. With the help of letters having been unpublished up to now it can be shown, that H nsel′s hypothesis is not longer tenable.
