The Examination of the Culture Perception of the Elementary 8th Grade Students

This study has been made in order to examine the perceptions of elementary 8th grade students related to the concept of culture. In the study in which qualitative research model has been used, data have been gathered by using the interview technique and written expression, and the data that have been obtained have been analyzed by using the descriptive analysis method. As a result of data analysis, it has been determined that the students make different definitions related to the concept of culture, and that they associate culture with the past. It has been determined that higher the level of education of the parents, the more elevated the degree of ability of the students to associate culture with the past and the present. Planning the studies in this direction also in different education levels will be significant in terms of providing the integrity related to the subject.
