The Holistic Approach in First Grade Teaching and the Efforts of Individualization in Teaching

Abstract:

In this study, the students’ school readiness about five develepmental areas as Cognitive, Physical, Language, Emotional, and Social development were determined with the scale “The Kiel School Admission Test” the Turkish adaptation of which was done by Kutluca Canbulat (2010) and students’ development in the four basic reading and writing skills being equated with teaching to 1st classes was tried to obtain. The study is designed with action research. The study group was 10 students being selected scale sampling from a randomly selected primary school. A total research was used to the 1st year education through individual support education. According to research findings students’ skills have develeoped who were supported in a holistic skills development.
