Examination of Activities in Primary School Social Studies Curriculum Guides (4th to 7th Grades) in Terms of Value Education Approaches

The aim of this study is to examine the situation of sample activities in social studies curriculum guides in terms of value education approaches. In this study document analysis, one of qualitative methods, was employed. Primary school social studies curriculum guides were used as data sources. Data collected from documents were analyzed through content analysis. The results of this study showed that in total 98 (40.2%) sample activities, prepared toward value education approaches, are in curriculum guides. In this context, it is detected that values clarification is the most used approach in the sample activities and 7th grade has much more sample activities than others.
