Correction note: first biological classification of a Martian organism, genus Gillevinia (not Levinia) - Corrección: primera clasificación biológica de un organismo marciano, género Gillevinia (no Levinia).

It was found that Levinia, the name given on December 20, 2006 for the genus of the active specimens found in biosphere Marciana by the Viking Mission's Labeled Release life detection experiments, whose detailed diagnoses (characteres naturales) were provided by Klein et al. 1976, was already in use for genera in biosphere Terrestria. In Trilobites, Levinia stands in fair use (Jell and Adrain 2003) since Rusconi (1950) thus nomenclated a trilobite genus or subgenus of indeterminate family from Mendoza, Argentina. Among "coccidia", or protozoan parasites of the suborder Eimeriorina in phylum Apicomplexa, the generic name Levinia have been already proposed for the Isospora species that utilize paratenic hosts species (cf. Dubey, 1977). Among Enterobacteriaceae, Levinia is also a mispelling/synonym of a later heterotypic genus (Levinea Young et al. 1971) synonym for Citrobacter Werkman and Gillen 1932 (cf. Farmer 1981, Brenner et al 1993). Therefore, in order to ensure that generic names are unique across all biological major taxa, the genus' name Levinia is replaced and the genus that it formerly characterized in Marciana is hereby nomenclated Gillevinia, novum genus. As a consequence, the active agent characterized by its reported behavior as responsible of the results of the 1976 Viking Mission's Labeled Release experiment from now on formally features, for systematic biology, the following taxonomical entry: organic life system, Solaria; biosphere, Marciana; kingdom, Jakobia; genus et species, Gillevinia straata. - CASTELLANO: Se ha hallado que Levinia, el nombre brindado el 20 de diciembre de 2006 al género de especímenes activos encontrados en la biósfera Marciana por el experimento de liberación marcada de la Misión Vikingo de 1976, cuyos detalles diagnósticos (characteres naturales) fueron provistos por Klein et al. 1976, ya estaba en uso para géneros de la biósfera Terrestria.
